SINGLENESS

SINGLENESS – A TEMPORARY SITUATION OR A WAY OF LIFE?

Many young people and young adults are interested in relationships and willing to enter into one. However, it’s good to remember that there’s no need to rush into a relationship if you don’t feel ready.  Singleness can be a lifestyle and a choice. You can live a good life alone.

Being single is no less valuable than being in a relationship. However, many singles feel pressured to date by their environment. You should not start a relationship against your will or under pressure from others. It is important to listen to your wishes and needs and decide for yourself what steps you are ready to take. It’s good to stop and reflect: Do I want to date? At what point am I ready for a relationship? What do I want from a relationship?

WHY CAN’T YOU FIND A PARTNER?

Singleness can be a temporary phase, but some people live alone all their lives. It is often a mystery to singles themselves why they are single and why it feels difficult to get involved in a relationship.

There are many reasons for being single: shyness, timidness and difficulty in expressing emotions, experiences in childhood and adolescence, disappointments in previous relationships, traumatic experiences, life circumstances, reflection on one’s own sexuality. Sometimes, having very high expectations of your relationship and partner can also make it difficult to find a partner.

It’s not always easy to find the right partner. However, you can often find a partner in places you like and enjoy. We are easily attracted to people who are like-minded, enjoy the same things, and feel familiar. A common interest helps you get started. Love can be found at first sight, but it can also be found over a long period of getting to know someone. There is no right way to start dating or enter into a relationship.
