The Compassion in higher education project promotes and strengthens a compassionate culture in university communities. Our project aims to
- increase student wellbeing, as well as the ability to study and work
- improve social relationships for students and personnel
- decrease the focus on individualism and performance
- inspire a caring and inspiring atmosphere and actions
WHAT DO WE DO IN THE PROJECT?
Through our operations, we will support university students and staff in building a compassionate operational culture.
We will provide team training for university personnel working in teaching and guidance in order to develop compassion in the work and study community. The training aims to increase the personnel’s knowhow in self-compassion and compassion, as well as their courage to act for the best of themselves and others. In the training, we will also develop methods for boosting a compassionate operational culture.
We will support the students in compassionate and co-passionate ways of being and working. We are developing a group mentoring model where the students together will get acquainted with the possibilities and challenges of caring and inspiring activities. We will encourage the students personally fitting ways to engage in compassionate activities through service projects implemented at their university and within their community.
We will participate in training and research co-operation with the research community in connection to various project actions.
