We have published an English version of our Compassion Mentoring Guide. The guide has been published in digital format and you can browse and download it via the link below.

English version of our Compassion Mentoring Guide can be found here.

And here you will find the Finnish version of the same guide.

The handbook serves as a practical guide to organising compassion mentoring in your own university, both for the university staff organising the activities and for the students acting as peer mentors in the compassion mentoring groups. The handbook gives you tools for organising a mentoring programme. It also serves as support material for mentors during the group process.

Compassion peer mentoring is a model developed by Nyyti’s Compassion in Higher Education project (2019-2021) in cooperation with the University of Jyväskylä to support the strengthening of a compassionate and supportive culture in higher education. The positive results of the compassion mentoring in terms of strengthening compassion skills and the sense of belonging to a group make this a promising approach to be adopted throughout the higher education sector.

At Nyyti, we continue to carry out compassion mentoring in close cooperation with higher education institutions around Finland. More information about compassion mentoring and our partnership activities can be found here (Finnish only).
